The season 4 premiere of Scandal left me with a lot of feelings. Some good. Some bad. Some have no explanation whatsoever. So here we go:

1. Olivia, or should we call her Julia Baker, was literally in the middle of nowhere off the coast of Zanzibar. Just living out her new life with Jake Ballard without a care in the world. Then Quinn has to come in a ruin that by tracking her down, like some international terrorist (wrong Pope Quinn) to tell her about Harrison, knowing full well she would come back, dismantling her life all over again.
2. Baby Huck needs to pump the brakes. She is trying to save the team that Olivia left and that is not going to happen without Olivia. She needs to just slow her roll. A LOT.
3. Abby. She HATES the Grant Administration and made that very clear from the start of the show. The fact she is their Press Secretary is a little bit of a stretch for me.
4. Fitz tried to kill himself?! You can not drop a bomb of that nuclear status and not talk about it again. That is not something you skim over in a drunken conversation on the balcony of the White House with your grieving wife.
5. Mellie is borderline crazy but I love her. Although, she can’t stop living… she has two other children that need her.
6. Huck. I can’t wrap my mind around him and all his issues. I understand that Olivia was/is is rock and keeps him on track. She left and it destroyed him. He needs her and she sees that, she knows he is lost and wandering without her. Almost like a child without a parent.
7. David Rosen needs to get off his high horse names Moral Superiority. In case he forgot how he got his current job… He BLACKMAILED the White House. He is not clean and pure. He can not throw stones at Jake and everyone else. He has the B613 files. He called Pope and Associates to clean up the murdered girl in his bed. He can not claim that he is any better than any other person. He lives and works in Washington DC… the poster child for UNmoral Superiority.
8. Jake knows more about what happened to Baby Fitz. He knows. He was Command. He knows.
9. The entire episode all I could think about was the unspoken love triangle and then this little gem was on repeat in my head….
10. The “Scandal” of the episode almost seemed like an after thought… and in my opinion, a little in poor taste, considering the fact that sexual assault has been in the headlines and is a serious issue, and people have a heard enough time talking about it as it is… you have a female Democrat Senator using one of her female aides (unbeknownst to said aide) to essentially seduce a vote from a man for bill about equal pay for women. ANNNNND…. considering Columbus Short was written off the show for DOMESTIC ABUSE…. I just think they should and could have gone in another direction.
11. Olivia wants to stay in DC and Jake wants to get the H out of there…. Jake knows that is not a wise idea, for either of them (did we not see the look he got/gave to Papa Pope at Harrison’s service)12. Harrison’s service was a beautiful scene that showed just how vulnerable Olivia and team are.13. Fitz is still holding the torch for Olivia. Pinning for her. Hoping she will come back to save him. Yeah, yeah, he told Mellie he wouldn’t see her (even Mellie, in her drunken state knew that was a load of bull hockey)
I can not give a Team Fitz update as the only interaction they had was at the very end (after Olivia won them the Equal Pay Bill) and they walked past each other in the Rotunda and didn’t speak or touch but did the Hallmark movie reach and then smiled with anticipation of what is to come.
Jake said it perfectly, Olivia is now in the shadow of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
