TGIT–SCANDAL S4E2

SCANDAL S4E2Scandal is proving to be, yet again, a show to be reckoned with. Shonda Rhimes is proving that she OWNS Thursday nights on ABC.  She can push whatever envelope she wants and she will have an epic show.

That having been said, here are my thoughts on the most recent episode of Scandal, “Inside the Bubble”…

1. Olivia is lost.  She can’t get her footing just right and she can’t seem to figure out what it is that is holding her back from getting back into being a Gladiator.
2. Fitz is losing Gun Control (not shocking, to anyone who follows actual politics in America).  I feel like “Gun Control” is a metaphor for his entire life.  Fitz does not have have control of anything.  His son was literally taken from him, his wife is spiraling out of control, Olivia left him in his most trying hour, he does not have the support of his own political party and a plethora of other issues we will see unfold as the season unfold, I would assume. He doesn’t even know the name of his Press Secretary for crying out loud.
3. Mellie found a new obsession that made her, for a hot second, focus on something else.  She was right, and it drove home that she is not some crippled mother who lost her child.  She is a bright, talented and observant woman who is driven and will not stop until she gets what she wants. I love her this season.

3.5. Fitz supporting Mellie in her need to feel involved and like she was apart of something again.  He is growing to think of other people, not just himself.4. Jake…. Jake… Jake… “you’re not my girlfriend…” OUCH.  The only reason he decided to go to dinner was because he found out the Papa Pope was behind the death

5.5. Jake and Olivia outside his hotel door, he knows she doesn’t love him.
6. Abby and Olivia… they need to have their “Come to Jesus Meeting” and soon.  The third grade fighting because Olivia moved away and now is back needs to end.  SO much unnecessary drama.5. DAVID ROSEN…. fighting dirty to win a case… which to quote my good friend Ruth Arnell…. “That is not how legislation gets litigated.” When you play with dirt, you have to be willing to get dirty.
Baby Huck and Charlie… SUPER WEIRD….. that is all i have to say about that.  However, Quinn has a point.. Olivia and Huck are so caught up in everything else, they missed that one of their team was missing. Not their A Game.

8. Did Olivia’s best friend really kill her daughter because she found out her mother was sleeping with her 17 year old boyfriend?!

9. Cyrus is not that stupid, right?! He thinks that NO ONE is going to find out about the face that he is paying for sex and the desecration that comes with a high end escort?  This is WASHINGTON DC… no one is safe.  There is always someone out to get you. Cyrus should know this better than anyone. All in all a pretty intense episode.  Lots of potential scandals to unravel as the season unfolds.
Sadly, I can not allot any point to either Team Jake or Team Fitz as there were not a whole lot of opportunities for them to fight for Olivia and earn her.Time will tell who will win this battle.  Until next week Gladiators.
