About the Book:

All Kendra wants to do is dance for the Manhattan Dance Company. So when her family’s forced to move to California, her dreams of auditioning are shattered. Still determined to dance, Kendra faces social isolation and family pressures in her new home. But when she’s diagnosed with a debilitating illness, Kendra must decide which dreams are worth fighting for.

My Thoughts:

Kendra is a persistent character. One who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Is that to her detriment? Kendra has danced ballet in Manhattan since she was a girl and could not imagine her life without dance. She quite literally never explored other options other than becoming a professional ballerina for Manhattan Dance Company. So how will she go on to fulfill her dreams when she finds out she suffers from a chronic illness that will only get worse?

This book was a lovely read that pulls at the heartstrings of anyone who has seen a dream come so close you can almost grasp it, only to have that dream pulled away by something you have no control over. There are some ballet terms in the book one might not understand if they have never danced ballet, however, it does not distract from the storyline. This book is one that many would enjoy. Check it out!

About Katie
