Fall is here and I am over the moon happy. I love the crisp air, the sound of leaves crunching under my feet, the pumpkin decor, oversized sweaters, and soup. But perhaps my most favorite thing about fall is the festivities.
While you might feel melancholy putting away your swim suit and saying goodbye to snow cones, just think of all the fun things to do in the fall! If you are lacking in inspiration, here is a list of activities the whole family can enjoy. *If you live in Southeast Idaho, I have included links to local attractions*
10 Fun Fall Activities You HAVE To Do This Fall:
1. Go apple picking! What could be more relaxing than walking through beautiful trees while filling a basket with apples? Your kids can run freely without care and you will get some beautiful photos as an added bonus.
2. Visit a pumpkin patch! Skip buying your pumpkins at the grocery store, it’s so much more fun to pick out your pumpkins from the patch. Many pumpkin patches also have other attractions like mini straw mazes or train rides.
3. Carve pumpkins. You can print patterns off the internet or use your imagination. Wanting to do the pumpkin thing without the mess of carving? Paint it instead! has tons of ideas if you need them.
4. Bake! Make apple pie, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bread, apple strudel, you get the idea. Not only fun, but oh so yummy too!
5. Go on a nature walk. There isn’t a more beautiful time of year to be out in nature than the fall. Don your oversized sweater with a slouchy beanie and go see those colors! Take along a thermos of hot chocolate, heck make it a picnic! Don’t forget to take someone to cuddle with too.
6. Visit a straw or corn maze! This is one of our favorite fall activities. Basically they make a giant maze out of corn stalks or straw bales and you find your way out. Some of the mazes will feature a haunted maze on weekend evenings for those looking for scary fun.
7. Visit a haunted house. There are usually many to choose from that range from spooky to leave you awake at night scary.
8. If visiting a haunted house isn’t your thing then surely you must visit a fall festival. Eat corn on the cob, bob for apples, eat apple pie to your heart’s desire. Fun for the whole family.
9. Rake and play in leaves! Perhaps the cheapest and most fun thing I remember as a child was raking leaves into a giant pile to jump in. While fun for the children, it’s also fun for adults. Go ahead, try it.
10. Watch spooky movies, read fall picture books, and make fall or Halloween crafts.
Make this fall the best one ever! Oh, and one last thing. Fall is the start of soup season and as I consider myself a soup connoisseur, be on the lookout for some amazing soup recipes here on the blog coming soon!

Thanks for linking this up at our party this week, Katie!
