Cool stuff for boys 10-12yrs
We started out in the girls dept and now, here’s out take on boys…
Grade 5 this year seems like a big deal. Like, so grown up. And yet, these guys and their friends are in that sort of sweet spot where they’re not TOO grown up and not TOO little. Maybe just on the verge of growing up? It’s an exciting place to be.
My boys are fairly simple with clothes. They aren’t too trendy yet and comfort is still a leading factor in clothing choices. However, even as twins they do have separate tastes and preferences.
Here are some of our favourites for starting school this year!

Caps and khaki’s and hoodies…
1. 9Fifty snapback hat – popular with the kids, but look dorky on Dad (according to Dad).
2. MEC – Jr. Hoodie
3. Old Navy T’s
4. Children’s Place neon stripe button collar shirt
5. Micro Cargo pants
6. Children’s Place camo cargo’s

boardshorts, snapbacks and backpacks…
7. Specialized Snapback hat (what can we say, Dad works at a bike shop)
8. Joe Fresh T
9. Gap distressed denim straight leg jeans
10. MEC Jr. striped cotton long sleeve T
11. MEC Hoodie
12. Coast Mountain lightweight hiking pant – adjustable length
13.Old Navy Kids skater board shorts
Now I know this is not an exhaustive list of what’s cool out there. I like to think we have a good balance of simple, easy and comfortable clothes, with just enough style to keep up with early mornings catching the bus, friends at lunch time, riding bikes after school and keeping up with the playground code of cool!
