Redefining Casual – Boat Shoes

How are my Redefining Casual and Ballerina Fashionista readers doing?  I’m sorry for the hiatus in the fashion department here on LLDC.  We recently sold our house and are in the process of moving into our new house in just a few weeks!  EEK!  That means along with the return of fashion posts, you will also get a slew of room reveals ala my Sister in Law Brooke, as she helps me decorate our new home.  Also, Ballerina Fashionista got her braces off this summer and that was kinda a big deal. But for now, what better way to return to the blogosphere than with a discussion about boat shoes?

When I was packing for my Alaskan cruise, I was looking for a great pair of shoes to wear on the boat that looked nice enough to wear to shows but could also handle water.  I took this opportunity to snatch up a pair of .  I’d had my eye on them for months and finally decided it was time to take the plunge.  After getting them, I was nervous about scratching the leather and worried water might ruin them, but I trusted them to fulfill their purpose as boat shoes and took them along.

It rained on and off on the cruise and my handled the water like champs!  They were the perfect shoes for cruising days.

Now that we are in the last days of summer, I am wearing all my summer dresses for their last time this year and this nautical striped dress was made perfect with my Sperry boat shoes!

I definitely needed red lips and nails to complete this outfit.  I still can’t get over how comfortable and glam I felt wearing this!

Now that fall is almost upon us (all hail the most fashionable season!), I am looking forward to wearing my boat shoes with jeans and blazers for the perfect preppy look.  What’s your favorite way to wear your Sperrys?
