Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas

We all know that a great teacher is a real gift to our kids and our communities. And we all like to feel appreciated! Even a small token or a heartfelt ‘thank you’ can go a long way to letting someone know their efforts are meaningful.
Yeah Teacher Appreciation Week! Or end of school. Or Christmas. Or anytime you need to recognize and encourage/support/thank the wonderful people who teach our kiddos. And if you homeschool, then consider getting something for yourself!
Here are a few ideas we have used at our house or would totally use as teacher appreciation gift ideas:
  • Gift card for music *include your fave playlist or kids recommendations for teacher.  It could also be used for apps. Maybe your kids really want to ‘share’ a fave app/game with their teacher
  • Natural body products *my daughter and I made custom bath salts and lip balm for our teachers last year
  • A magazine subscription *could be for the class or related to art, science, technology, or personal like gardening
  • A copy of your favourite book or age appropriate books for the classroom
  • Painted rock magnets *we’ve made these too!
  • Donate to the class charity *my kids school often choose a charity as a class and work towards raising funds to support it.
  • Original artwork or photography
  • Gift certificate for lunch or coffee
  • Lysol wipes lol! *even better, offer to come in and help ‘sanitize’ (especially popular in younger grades)
  • Potted plants, flowers, or seed starters
Don’t be afraid to give something a bit silly or simple. Maybe a huge pack of gum or squirt gun. Movie passes. Homemade treats. I also think it’s a good idea to ask your kids what their teacher might need or enjoy. You might be surprised at the great or unusual ideas they have.
Thank You Teachers!
We appreciate you!
