Ballerina Fashionista: Vintage Inspired Swimwear

So my mom and I were talking fashion the other day and something she said resonated with me.  She mentioned how no one really dressed beautifully anymore like in the 50s when women wore dresses and pearls and men wore business suits and ties.  Being young, I never really noticed this before but I would say I have to agree.  There are far too many days that I wear what I think is a casual but fashionable outfit, only to have others ask why I’m wearing a dress or why I look so fancy.  I have started to yearn to live in the 50s and 60s if only for their fashion.  I mean I don’t want to go back to segregation, war, where women were treated as if they were beneath men.  But come on, you have to admit fashion was at it’s height back then.

When I found Red Dolly Swimwear, it was the answer to my nostalgic yearning.  The Red Dolly creates the most beautiful vintage inspired swimwear that oozes fashion.  They carry a wide range of sizes for baby, child, tween, and adult women.

This suit arrived in the mail just in time to help me celebrate my birthday.  I’m 12 now, eek!

I had so much fun doing this shoot.  I felt like a glamorous 50s movie star!

I was doing this shoot at my Grandparents house and my Papa Joe shouted, “Take some with Lucky.”  Yes, this bird is real.  However, I am not on a tropical island but rather a snowy 10 degree Idaho   Photo editing for the win.

Thanks to Red Dolly Swimwear I can wear my suit with my pearl earrings, close my eyes and pretend it’s 1958 and I am laying on a sunny beach, laughing with my friends and going for milkshakes at the local diner.
