Ballerina Fashionista: Buffalo Check and a Floppy Beanie

January 7, 2015 by Katie

It snowed on Christmas Eve, and then snowed some more…and some more…and some more.  It was so magical on Christmas but the day after I was over it.  The thing about snow is, it’s cold!  Like why do I live where the air hurts my face?  And the saddest thing about winter in Idaho is always having your adorable outfit covered up by a coat.

Tween Fashion Blog

I’m still on winter break from school, you know what that means?  A break from having to wear my school uniform!  2 weeks of fashionable bliss and I can wear whatever I want!  I got this floppy beanie in my Christmas stocking and I have been wearing it nonstop.  It has been great for keeping my head warm and perfect for squeezing in one more day before I need to wash my hair.

Tween fashion with a floppy beanie, buffalo check shirt, and sheepskin vest. Ballerina Fashionista, a tween fashion series on Little Light Design Collective

I completely adore this faux sheepskin vest from One Sunday.  I love finding pieces that are classic but with a modern edge and this vest fits the bill.  I will be sad when my thrifted buffalo check skirt is too small to wear anymore.  I got the shirt free from a clothing swap and I have worn the heck out of it!  Hint for when shirts get too small.  Roll the sleeves up and tuck the shirt into your pants or a skirt.  You can get a little more mileage that way.  After looking at my pics, I think an arm party is in order next time I wear buffalo check and a floppy beanie.

Well, I’m off to enjoy the last few days of my break doing what a tween should be doing.  Instagram, reading Divergent, making cookies, going to the movies, dancing to Taylor Swift, and looking up tween fashion on Pinterest.  Stay warm my darlings.

XOXO,
