Ballerina Fashionista: Tween Winter Fashion

We had our first snow of the season and I spent the whole weekend enjoying it.  I went sledding with my family, ate cheesy broccoli soup in bread bowls for dinner, watched The Polar Express, and went to my Grandparents on Sunday.  One of my favorite things about going to my Papa Joe’s, is looking out his big windows out into his vast fields, and watching his horses and mules graze.

They are the friendliest horses and mules you would ever meet, and they come running to you if you walk out into the pasture.  It can be very intimidating to have 8 large animals running toward you and surrounding you, but they just want some love.  All you have to do is give them a good rub on the head, feed them a little hay, and they will meander off to graze again.

As always, I had to pick the perfect outfit for such a perfect day.  Enter One Sunday!  Have you ever found a clothing company or boutique where you love everything they carry?  Where all of their clothing is the embodiment of you?  That’s how I feel about One Sunday.  Henrietta Cheshire founded One Sunday when she noticed a gap in the market for simple, elegant, and unique girls clothing.  Based in Australia, One Sunday produces, “a range of clothing for girls aged eight to fourteen with a classic sensibility, a bit of an edge and a nod towards European fine detail.”  One Sunday carries truly beautiful, simple and elegant, clothing.  The clothing is of superb quality and made right in Australia using fabrics milled in New Zealand.

This Tartan Wrap Skirt is made of 100% wool and is very warm for winter.  It isn’t scratchy at all either which is practically a miracle, what with it being wool and all.

This Faux Sheepskin Vest is cozy and complements the wrap skirt  beautifully.   The simple, one button styling gives the vest a modern look and the sides fall open and lay perfectly.

I just can’t get over this outfit!  It’s so classic and elegant and just screams my name.  Even my little sister, who is more tomboy and only wears dresses when she is forced, loved it!  She was slightly jealous until she remembered she gets my hand me downs when I outgrow them, haha!

So, if you didn’t already know this, Australia has opposite seasons of the U.S. and Canada and are just heading into summer (#jealous).  Henrietta assured me One Sunday is an international company with 33% of sales coming from the U.S., so they keep all seasons in stock.  As they are based in Australia, their summer line just came out and all of their winter line is on sale!

This outfit will be getting a lot of play this winter!  It will be my go to when I want to dress beautifully but remain comfortable and sensible.  Snow, soup, horses, and clothes.  Could you ask for a better weekend?
