Hello, my name is Amanda and I’m a Pinterest Addict. I’ve come to discover that addictive personalities must run in my family because when my little monsters grab hold of something, our entire household because obsessed with it. Yes, it has been a year long addiction but we still love Disney’s Frozen! But really, how can you not?!?!
My middle monster has an end of summer birthday and always feels cheated that he never gets to invite ‘school friends’. So this year we put his party off a few weeks, let school start up again and then threw him a party. What theme does a little 5 year old boy want… FROZEN of course! Don’t get me wrong, we love Anna and Elsa, but in this household of boys it’s all about Olaf! Olaf quotes have made their way into a regular part of our every day vocabulary now. So when Frozen was chosen as our party theme, instantly I knew Olaf would be our star.
is filled with so many awesome Frozen party activities. A simple search will give you thousands of pins. But this one from Mom Endeavors caught my eye.
I love simple touches to make a party unique. When I saw this post, I knew these would be the party favours for the party. It was so easy and everyone was so thrilled to get a shirt of their own to take home.
When I say simple, I mean SIMPLE! Go to your local craft store and get white shirts and fabric paint. The internet is filled with Olaf images. Find one you like (the one used on the original post is great for this) and then lightly trace the imagine with a pencil on to the shirt… paint, dry… and bask in the awesomeness that is you!
There were two things I did differently however. In the original post, they use puff fabric paint. At my local craft store I was able to find a flat fabric paint, so I used that because I don’t care for the look of puff paint. If you have never used fabric paint.. TRY IT! You will love it! It is so simple to use. But word of warning, be careful because its permanent. I had a couple splatter mishaps on the odd white shirt. Luckily I had extras, and I now have a designated fabric painting shirt that has carrot nose orange on the sleeve!
The other thing I did was ignore the white paint. I figured I was using white shirts so I could avoid the white paint. Mine still looked pretty darn good if you ask me!
Also, a word of advice. A little paint goes a LONG way. I made 10 small kid size shirts and easily had enough paint in the smaller sized paint bottles.
This is one of my favorite projects I have done. I was so in love with the shirts when they were finished. And they made awesome party favors that made our guest feel spoiled when they left. Definitely a Pinterest win!
