The 9 Most Popular Items at Trader Joes

This summer I got my first chance to visit a Trader Joe’s store.  I know, its shocking to some, but there aren’t any near me, and believe it or not, when I drive 10 hours south to visit my family, they are still another 4 hours to a Trader Joes.  Thats 14 hours of driving, so its become like a Disney Land experience.  Except, I was so excited to get into the store then I had no idea what I should be getting.  Because I was on vacation, any of the frozen foods and refrigerated items couldn’t come home with me.  Luckily, a friendly employee not only told me what the most popular items are, he also let us sample anything we wanted.

After a lot of gruelling (or delicious) research I give to you my top 9 items you NEED to buy while at Trader Joes.

The 9 Most Popular Items at Trader Joes

  • Coconut Oil – I love coconut oil and use it for so many things.  This is least expensive I have found in at a brick and mortar store.
  • Salsa – This is my husbands all time favorite salsa.  I really like their Salsa Verde better.  So, try both.
  • Sea salt butterscotch caramels – you will become addicted
  • coconut oil spray – get rid of the PAM and use this instead.
  • TJ steak sauce – for my mom who puts steak sauce on absolutely everything.
  • Speculoos Cookie Butter – creamed up cookies. My first thought was what to eat it with.  I usually have it with apples, on toast, or just straight from the jar.  YUMMY.
  • Jo jos cookies – the healthier (kinda?) oreo. They also come in a gluten free version.
  • Dark chocolate salted almonds – this is my all time favorite.  I buy boxes of them and stick them in the freezer, bringing them out one by one,  I refuse to share.
  • Yogurt covered raisins – YUM.
  • Chocolate bars.  There is a coconut one that is my all time fav.

What am I missing?  Is there something else you have tried and loved?  Does the store live up to the hype for you?

Their blondie brownie mix is yum! Their Harvest Blend Mix is also good, you can use it instead of rice. I got the salsa verde and orange chicken to try. The closest one we have is 30 minutes away and it is always crazy! You can’t really browse and check things out. I usually go when we’re on vacation too. ;)
